Champion Highlight | Jaime Garcia Mejia
Congratulations to our August Champion of the month, Jaime Garcia Mejia!
Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Jaime returned to Wichita to be closer to family. Shortly after moving to Wichita, Jaime joined the Mahaney team as a Future Foreman in the Roofing division. When asked about the culture at Mahaney, Jaime said, “the culture is good; it’s consistent. Everyone works together with trust and support.”
Jaime says he appreciates working for Mahaney because it allows him to spend more time with his wife and daughter and it gives him the ability to do a little bit of everything. When he’s not working, Jaime and his family enjoy going to the movies or on bike rides together.
At Mahaney one of our Pillars is Relentless Problem Solvers: Impossible only means we have not found the solution yet. We make the impossible possible by giving our energy to the solution. This Pillar is one that Jaime exhibits daily making him an easy choice for the Champion of the Month.
Jaime says to be a Relentless Problem Solver means “having confidence in yourself and trust in your team to come together and get the job done.” He added, “I like solving problems and being trusted with the problems. I like to ask the crew for their opinion when we’re tackling a problem. This makes the team feel included and creates unity for the crew.”
Belle Stewart, Director of Project Management, says “Jaime always has a positive attitude and has taken on the challenge of problem-solving projects with only one or two helpers to assist him. He figured out how to create a decorative ballast with little guidance and tackles detail work when needed.”
