CHAMPION HIGHLIGHT | CHARLIE BARTA
Congratulations to our February Champion of the Month, Charlie Barta!
Charlie moved to the United States from the city of Prague in the Czech Republic, Europe in 1999 to pursue work. It was in 2018 that Charlie joined the Mahaney Team as a Foreman in the Metals division, and he continues to thrive in this role; he spent 18 years working with sheet metal before bringing his talents to Mahaney.
Charlie was chosen as the Champion of the Month for exemplifying Mahaney’s Purpose, “we are workmen created with the limitless ability to positively impact our families, company, community, and country”. What does this mean to Charlie? He says, “I always try to be better every day. I love this country and love the community around me. I always try to do the best work; our work is on display for everyone to see – make it good.”
Through his positivity and dedicated work ethic, Charlie has utilized his skills to teach and lead those around him. He commented, “I’m old school and loyal. I want to teach the guys everything I can and help make them better. I want to set a good example. I appreciate the people on my team, and I want better for them.”
He went on to add how Mahaney has made an impact on his life, “I’m not just a number but a person. I have a community here and that’s important to me. Mahaney’s a good company because of the people like Darrell [Metals Superintendent] and Mark [President] and the culture we have here.”
Outside of Mahaney, Charlie spends time with his wife of 10 years, Shannon, and their 5 grandkids. He enjoys gardening, cooking, and baking.
