Champion Highlight | Lupe Arguelles
Congratulations to our December Champion of the Month, Lupe Arguelles!
Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Lupe moved to Wichita over 28 years ago to be closer to his family in the area. Lupe began his roofing career when he moved to Wichita, and he quickly realized his passion for the trade. It was nearly 8 years ago that Lupe joined the Mahaney team as a Superintendent in our Roofing division where he has continued to thrive since.
Lupe was chosen as the Champion of the Month for exemplifying Mahaney’s Pillar: Transform Communities. At Mahaney, we believe that our work is a part of a larger chain of impact that has the power to transform communities.
Belle Stewart, Vice President of Roofing, says, “Education and training are the key to community transformation. They give people the opportunity to improve their own lives and the lives of people around them by giving them the skills they need to continue to grow in their profession and care for their families. Lupe goes out of his way to help the members of his team on both a personal and professional level by teaching them their trade whenever he is given the opportunity to do so. He invests in our future on a daily basis by sharing his knowledge with others.”
When asked what Transforming Communities means to him, Lupe responded, “doing the right thing for the community to make an impact. I love how what I do affects the community, and I like to see the results of our work – improving the place around me. It’s important for me to do the job the right way.”
Lupe says Mahaney has positively affected his life by providing him with an environment where relationships are cultivated, and a strong support system has his back. He added, “I love what I do. I love teaching the crews and seeing them improve. I love seeing the jobs progress and get completed. Mahaney’s a good company.”
Outside of work, Lupe spends time with his wife and 9 children. He enjoys going to the movies, taking the kids to do fun things around the area, and taking his wife on dates.
