Champion Highlight | Josh Sherwood
Congratulations to Mahaney’s October Champion of the Month, Josh Sherwood!
More than 5 years ago, Josh joined the Mahaney team as a Foreman, and a year and a half later he was promoted into a Superintendent and Project Manager position. Josh has continued to be successful in his career with Mahaney; he now leads the Logistics, Metals, and Steel divisions as the Vice President. Josh says, “I like the work I do, and I enjoy seeing projects transform from the beginning of just an estimate to the finished product.”
Originally from Sedan, Kansas, Josh has spent the majority of his life in Wichita. His father was in the construction industry specializing in concrete which exposed Josh to the trade from a young age when he would work alongside his dad.
When he is not at work, Josh takes advantage of quality family time, fishing, and hunting. He and his wife recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary! Josh, his wife, 5-year-old daughter, younger brother and father enjoy going on family camping trips each year.
Josh was chosen as the Champion for exemplifying Mahaney’s Pillar: Elevating the Craftsman. At Mahaney, there is no limit for a skilled craftsman, they are honored before kings. To Josh, Elevating the Craftsman means, “ensuring everyone knows they are valued and have a place, and every craftsman works together as a team to get the job done.” He went on to say that making sure his team is taken care of is his priority, “if they’re not successful nobody is. I’m proud to be a leader of this great team! I think everyone has a good attitude, and everyone respects each other.”
Clint Parker, Project Manager for Mahaney, says “Josh is the best candidate for the Champion of the Month. I feel that Josh goes above and beyond to help elevate his team.”
When asked how working at Mahaney has impacted his life, Josh said, “I have had growth that I never thought I would see. I have been able to provide for my family and give my daughter a good life.”
