Champion Highlight | Hernan Gallardo Gonzalez
Congratulations to our July Champion of the Month, Hernan Gallardo Gonzalez!
Hernan began his career at Mahaney in 2019 on the Roofing team; he had family who were already working at Mahaney and told him it was a good place to work. About one year ago, Hernan accepted an opportunity to join the Services division, and it was not long until he was promoted to a Foreman; the position he currently holds.
As a Services Foreman, Hernan uses his extensive construction background to solve problems every day by helping customers with their roofing and repair needs.
Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Hernan was 11 years old when he moved to Houston, Texas to be closer to his family in that area. When he was 20 years old, Hernan came to Wichita planning to just visit family with his older brother, but he ended up staying and building a life here.
Hernan was chosen as the Champion for his commitment to positivity. At Mahaney, one of our Values is Be Positive - the belief that when we approach our work with a positive attitude, we create an energy that allows us to overcome difficulties. Bringing a positive attitude to work each day balances the grit and determination we use to get things done.
Julie Quastad, Services Coordinator, says, “Hernan is always positive and does excellent work.”
Hernan shared how being positive affects his work, “I don’t like to say no. I want to be able to help on the weekends or wherever I am needed. I care about my job and want to do good work.”
In reflecting on how working at Mahaney has impacted his life, Hernan says, “I like everything about working at Mahaney and being able to provide for my family; there are good people here – they treat you good, answer your questions, and help you learn.”
When he’s not working, Hernan enjoys going to the park with his 3 kids or fishing with his uncle.
