Champion Highlight | Juan Vitela
Congratulations to our October Champion of the Month, Juan Vitela. Juan started at Mahaney as a laborer when he was 20 years old. Now, 7 years later Juan is a Foreman in the Roofing division.
“I’ve been working in construction since I was 15” he says. I was a laborer [at Mahaney] for a year and a half before I became a Foreman.”
Juan first came to the United States from Durango, Mexico when he was 13 years old. “I came to Wichita because most of my family is here”, Juan says.
Now, Juan has a family of his own. “My wife and I have been together for ten years and we have five kids.” When he is not spending time with his family, you can find Juan working on cars.
When he thinks of what Elevating the Craftsman means to him, he says it’s all about mentality and celebrating others. “I feel like I am a very positive person, I’m open minded. I love to celebrate good work with my team, and I love to be responsible.”
He adds, “I have a great team. They’re very helpful. I don’t like to take credit, we work together.”
As for how working at Mahaney has impacted his life, Juan says, “I have better results in my life overall.”
Thank you, Juan for always celebrating your team and Elevating the Craftsman!
