Belle Stewart Promoted To Project Management Office Supervisor
Mahaney Group is excited to announce the promotion of Belle Stewart as the Project Management Office Supervisor.
The position, which is an extension of her previous role, (Project Management Assistant) will work closely with Kyle Harryman, Vice President of Metals and Project Managers and oversee project processes and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of all projects.
As she steps into her new role, Belle says, “The biggest change I am experiencing in this position is the fact that I’ve been empowered to ensure that a project is performed as efficiently as possible. The day-to-day is not that different, but the end goal is different. We’re creating something and allowing our project managers to have great resources when they’re working on a project that allows them to focus on acquiring work.”
While Belle has spent over 15 years in the construction industry, her professional journey included working as a paralegal, teaching Spanish at the university of Missouri, before eventually finding her way back to construction working as a translator.
Belle also has a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Spanish and her Master’s in Business Law.
As she gets ready to celebrate 2 years at Mahaney in August, Belle recalls the beginning of her journey. “My first week at Mahaney, I went to a scheduling meeting and immediately felt so comfortable.”
Belle says her favorite thing about Mahaney is the people.
"I really do enjoy the people I work with. There’s elements of every job that we don’t like but the people are what make work enjoyable.”
When asked what the most challenging part of her job is, Belle says, her new position is challenging her in new ways, “it’s forcing me to stretch get out of my comfort zone and interact more as opposed to keeping my head down.”
She goes on to say that working at Mahaney has made her a happier person. “I get up, go to work and enjoy my work.”
Belle also credits the leadership, such as CEO Mark Bolt for the overall positive impact Mahaney has on people’s lives, “I think that one of the things that Mark tries really hard- and succeeds in- is creating a culture that gives people a second chance. I saw that when I got hired, in a lot of ways, it was a second chance for me.”
She goes on to say, “It’s important to him [Mark] to give people the opportunity to improve their lives and make it what they want.”
Outside of the office you can find Belle spending time with her husband and 5 kids, checking out local breweries, and the local music scene, or sharpening her photography skills.
Congratulations again, Belle! We’re so glad to have you on our team!
