CHAMPION HIGHLIGHT | MARK EAST
We are excited to announce that our Champion of the Month is Mark East! Mark’s dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence have made him an invaluable part of the Mahaney team.
Mark is a Wichita native who made a significant life change when he moved to Los Angeles at the age of 30. He spent 26 years in L.A., running his own sheet metal shop and gaining invaluable experience in custom metalwork. In 2016, Mark made the decision to return to Wichita to be closer to family. He joined Mahaney shortly after and has been with us for 8 years now. Mark currently serves as our Lead Fabricator, using his wealth of experience to ensure our projects are completed with precision and creativity.
Mark has 50 years of experience in the metalworking industry, with a deep background in custom fabrication, and he continues to grow and expand his skills at Mahaney.
Mark exemplifies Mahaney's Pillar of Transforming Communities. At Mahaney, we believe that our work is part of a larger chain of impact that transforms the spaces we work on and improves the way people experience them. Mark brings this to life through his dedication to producing high-quality work that not only serves functional purposes but also beautifies the spaces around us.
Mark’s dedication to transforming communities can be seen in his approach to every project. As he puts it, “I’ve been doing this my whole life, and I love that our work at Mahaney is something that people can see and appreciate in the community. It feels good knowing that what we create can change people’s perspectives and improve the way things look.”
Metals Superintendent, Darrell Johnson, also praises Mark for his dedication: “Mark is always thinking about the bigger picture. He makes sure the team has what they need and is always looking for ways to improve. He’s a true asset to Mahaney.”
Mark has shared that working at Mahaney has provided him with a stable, supportive environment where he can continue to grow. He appreciates the opportunity to work with a team that values his experience and supports his creativity. “It’s been a great staple place, a great showcase to see my work in the community,” Mark says.
Mark describes the culture at Mahaney as one of continuous growth and respect. “There’s no complacency here,” he says. “We’re always moving forward, and everyone has the opportunity to stand out.” He particularly appreciates the way employees are treated and respected at all levels.
When Mark isn’t at work, he enjoys fishing, working on home projects, and hanging out with his wife, Mindy, and their two pet conures. Mark is also a proud grandfather of 9, with a growing family.
