Please tell us a little bit about your business and what differentiates it from others.
We specialize in commercial and industrial low-slope roofing. My main focus is Commercial Real Estate, Private Facilities and Public Facilities. We assist in the entire roof life cycle for our building owners and facility managers. We believe that our long-standing (126 years) commitment to treating other people’s roofs like we would treat our own through honest communications and excellent workmanship is the main thing that sets us apart in our industry. Additionally, we are utilizing technology at a high level through our online roof management tool called “Roof Access.” This enables our customers to manage their leaks and maintenance items from any mobile device.
What do you find most valuable about your Chamber membership?
The most valuable aspect of my chamber involvement is making personal relationships outside of my industry. I learn a great deal by watching and getting to know my fellow chamber members.

What is the best thing about doing business in the Wichita area?
I like doing business here because we have a lot of great industry and smart entrepreneurs, yet it’s still small enough that many deals are done with a hand shake.
What is your favorite Chamber event, program, or service and why?
The Government Relations Committee is my favorite group that I have been involved with.

Can you give an example of how you recently benefitted from Chamber membership?
I have taken on a role in Business and Community Development. It has been nice to engage others in Community Development and to learn from them. Additionally, there seems to be a lot of commonality in the altruistic nature of many of our business leaders. It is nice to see.
Describe your business’ most recent success.
Developing and implementing the “Mahaney Academy” to promote recruitment, development and retention of a skilled workforce. We are very excited to see people from all walks of life step into the roofing industry and see how it can provide self-worth and opportunity for them and their family.
To what do you attribute your success?
The grace of God, hard work, and great customers!
What is something people may not know about you or your business?
I was an All-American debate champion in college. Many of my peers and mentors on the Government Relations Committee have learned it, but roofing and debate don’t usually roll off the tongue in the same sentence.
